It is widely used in furniture manufacturing, also unknown as furniture panels. Besides, wooden glued panels are used for:

In glued panels production strictly not allowed:

  • wane;
  • rot;
  • mould;
  • checks and splits;
  • unglued seams;
  • holes as result of dropped knots.

Panels can be divided also into such quality degrees:

A quality

  • lamellas glued over the entire length;
  • uniform color and texture;
  • brown, fake, non-uniform spine is not allowed;
  • medullary rays are allowed;
  • sapwood is not allowed;
  • the slight slope of the fibers on the back side is allowed;
  • knots can be allowed;
  • allowed healthy spliced knots up to 10 mm in diameter and a single in diameter up to 25 mm;
  • checks, splits, ingrown bark, insect or mould defeat are not allowed;
  • open compounds are not allowed;
  • the thickness of a glue layer not more than 0.2 mm.

B quality

  • lamellas glued over the entire length;
  • non-uniform color and texture is allowed;
  • brown, fake, non-uniform spine is not allowed;
  • medullary rays are allowed;
  • sapwood is not allowed;
  • the slight slope of the fibers on the back side is allowed;
  • knots can be allowed;
  • allowed healthy spliced knots up to 30 mm in diameter;
  • not spliced knots and laying or plug in space;
  • small laying or bung in diameter up to 30 allowed;
  • one split in diameter up to 2mm x 50mm is allowed;
  • split on the edge in diameter up to 1mm x 100mm is allowed on the edge;
  • checks, splits, ingrown bark, insect or mould defeat are not allowed;
  • open compounds on the ends are allowed in diameter 1mm x 200mm;
  • the thickness of a glue layer not more than 0.2 mm.

C quality

  • lamellas glued over the entire length, no requirement about glued edges;
  • non-uniform color and texture is allowed;
  • brown, fake, non-uniform spine is allowed;
  • medullary rays are allowed;
  • sapwood is not allowed;
  • the slight slope of the fibers on the back side is allowed;
  • knots can be allowed;
  • allowed healthy spliced knots;
  • not spliced knots and laying;
  • splits are allowed;
  • ingrown bark is allowed;
  • insect or mould defeat are not allowed;
  • open compounds are allowed.
